MAKKAH, 4 March 2005 — A Yemeni youth stabbed his fianceé to death and then cut her head off in a gruesome murder that shocked Makkah, Al-Watan daily reported.
The man killed the girl because she allegedly refused to go out with him.
The 23-year-old man came to his fianceé’s house drunk and asked her to go out with him. When the 19-year-old girl refused, he stabbed her to death with a huge knife and separated her head from her body before escaping from the scene.
Neighbors who were getting ready to go to work, gathered at the house when they heard the girl’s frantic screams.
The girl’s father collapsed when he saw her headless body and had to be taken to hospital for treatment for shock. The girl’s body was also taken to a nearby hospital.
Police surrounded the neighborhood in full force when they received the shocking news.
The murderer was arrested within an hour of committing the crime after he was found walking in the street brandishing a big knife and threatening pedestrians.
It took quite an effort for the police force to subdue the man and take the knife away.
The Yemeni youth later confessed to the murder.
