SRINAGAR, 5 March 2005 — Even as the Indian Army insists that the two persons killed by them last month were “hardcore terrorists” Pulwama district magistrate has ordered DNA testing of the victims to establish their identity.
Following protests by villagers that the two persons killed by 17 JAK Light Infantry Regiment as terrorists at Sharatpura last month had been innocent villagers, the district magistrate Pulwama ordered exhumation and DNA testing of the victims’ samples at the Hyderabad Forensic Lab.
