JEDDAH, 9 March 2005 — Saudi Research & Publishing Company, the publisher of Arab News, yesterday launched the first electronic newspaper for Arab women named www.ansaph.com. The paper was launched at an annual conference of women in Dubai which was attended by a large number of businesswomen.
A live presentation was given about the electronic newspaper which features political, economic, social and family issues of interest to Arab women. SRPC also launched websites for its three women’s magazines: Sayidaty, Hia and Aljamila at the same time.
Nasser Saleh Al-Sarami, director of the electronic publication department at SRPC, said the new publication would fill the gap in supplying information required by Arab women and dealing with their varied concerns.
The company has recruited experienced female and male journalists to make the electronic newspaper informative as well as attractive. It has correspondents in all major Arab cities.
The paper’s experimental edition includes sections of news, house and family, dialogue, businesswomen, arts and literature, health, girls of the future, celebrities, civil rights, elections and other articles.
The site will also provide interactive services such as debates on current topics, opinion votes on major issues and contests, Sarami said. The websites of the three SRPC women’s magazines are: www.hiamag.com, www.sayidaty.net, and www.aljamila.com.
