JEDDAH, 16 March 2005 — Manarul Uloom International School recently celebrated its first annual day with a variety of cultural programs. Top winners in academic and extracurricular activities as well as cultural and sports contests were given medals and certificates of merit during the ceremony.

S.L. Sagar, Indian consul for community welfare, inaugurated the celebrations. M.V.A. Salim, managing director, welcomed the guests while Rahmathunnissa, the principal, presented the annual report. In her keynote speech, Susan Resheq, the guest of honor, called upon parents to boost self-esteem of their children.

“It was an evening of fulfillment and achievement for both parents and teachers to see their budding stars identified on the stage,” said Rahmathunnissa. Tiny tots enthralled the gathering with their performance as they presented a variety of attractive programs including oppana, drama, songs and dances.

Hanan Badruddin (KG section) and Fatima Tanseeha (primary section) received Miss Talent awards while Ayan Siddiqui (KG) and Ramees Abdurehim (primary section) were given Master Talent awards for scoring highest points in talent hunt contests.
