DHAKA, 20 March 2005 — Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Khaleda Zia will begin a three-day official visit to Singapore today to promote trade and investment, the government said. Khaleda will meet Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Monday for talks on investment, trade and economic cooperation, a government statement said yesterday. Her entourage will include Foreign Minister Morshed Khan, as well as a 14-member business delegation. Meanwhile, Bangladeh’s newly-appointed Foreign Secretary Hemayet Uddin yesterday said the country has a “very good relation” with neighboring India and he wants to improve it further. In his maiden press briefing at the Foreign Ministry here, he said Bangladesh believes in a “strong relation” with its neighbors and build up a “more stronger relation.”
