DAMMAM, 22 March 2005 — A young Saudi set a record of sorts when he sent 3,331 SMS messages in two months, Al-Watan reported. All messages were recorded in one bill and the total charge was SR832. The young man told Al-Watan that he sends more than 55 messages every day to friends and relatives in the eastern and southern provinces. In return he receives more than 70 messages a day. According to him he wants to stay in touch with all his relatives and friends through SMS messages since he does not have the time to call them. All his messages are funny jokes, he says.
