JEDDAH, 23 March 2005 — Election fever has become so endemic that it is not sparing even the mosques, Al-Madinah reported. A candidate for the forthcoming municipal elections took the microphone of a local mosque to embark on an eloquent campaign, promising people that if elected he would work diligently to improve civic services. Earlier, the man was canvassing votes outside the mosque. Worshippers could not believe when the man took the campaign right into the mosque.
