RIYADH, 6 April 2005 — The terrorist attack that began north of Riyadh on Saturday after a month-long lull shows that security cannot be taken for granted.
A random check with security establishments revealed that multimillion-riyal contracts are being awarded by government and private sector organizations, while banks and other organizations have upgraded their control access systems.
Speaking on behalf of Nafa Metal Works Factory, Rami Al-Mahmud, marketing manager, told Arab News that the company’s business had increased 100 percent over the last two years.
“We are planning to work three shifts to cope with the orders,” he said. “The demand is for all types of security barriers. In addition to conventional products, the factory also manufactures them according to customers’ specifications.”
In a related development, Bioscrypt Inc., a leading provider of identity verification technology from Canada, has announced that the Arab National Bank (ANB) has selected V-Prox finger scan readers to supplement and strengthen the security of its headquarters and offices.
