MUSCAT, 11 April 2005 — Ireland’s Circle Oil has bagged a major offshore oil exploration block in Oman, known for large reserves potential, a local daily reported yesterday. Times of Oman said the government has awarded Block 49,situated in the southwest of Oman, covering about 15,400 square kilometers, for a six-year period to Circle Oil.
