JEDDAH, 6 December 2005 — Tabuk Governor Prince Fahd ibn Sultan will open on Saturday a charitable housing project by King Abdullah Housing Foundation, said Dr. Yousuf Al-Othaimeen, secretary-general of the foundation.
He said 84 housing units are built under the project at a total cost of SR31.5 million in the villages of Shabaan and Al-Hassi on the Red Sea coast. Prince Fahd will distribute keys and deeds of the houses to the beneficiaries.
Othaimeen said the houses are fully furnished and provided with necessary amenities such as water and electricity.
The foundation has also established mosques, schools and health care facilities as well as social, cultural and training centers in the two villages.
“This is part of an emergency project aimed at building 2,200 houses at a total cost of SR500 million,” he said. He revealed plans for similar housing projects in various parts of the Kingdom.
