JEDDAH, 2 January 2006 — Chairman of Al-Waha International School, Jeddah, Maulana Abdullah Abbas Nadvi died of liver cancer here yesterday. He was 81. Five days ago he slipped into a coma and was rushed to Baksh Hospital where he breathed his last yesterday afternoon. He was buried in Jannatul-Maala in Makkah after funeral prayers in the Holy Haram. Abdullah Nadvi, a distinguished Saudi writer of several books, was also a well-known philanthropist. He was a disciple and close confidante of renowned Islamic scholar late Maulana Abul Hasan Ali Nadvi also known as Ali Mian. Condolences will be received after Maghreb prayers at Al-Waha school today.
