DHAKA, 7 January 2006 — Bangladesh has threatened to blacklist all Indian companies if a major Indian business concern, that has failed to honor its business commitment, does not act swiftly.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Division will blacklist all Indian companies if Jindal Steel, an Indian company, fails to supply gas pipe for Dhanua-Savar gas transmission line project by Jan. 25, Energy Adviser Mahmudur Rahman told newsmen.

The Indian company has missed several deadlines for supplying pipes for the 60-kilometer gas transmission line project that has hampered work on the project. The project is scheduled to be completed by June this year.

Mahmud said he would call on Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Veena Sikri soon to discuss the matter.
