MINA, 10 January 2006 — The three wives of a Yemeni managed successfully to convince him to perform Haj instead of taking a fourth wife. The Okaz daily reported that the aged Yemeni Haji Mohammed Saleh said that he was planning to get married to a young girl from their village. So, he spent quite a time saving in order to afford the marriage expenses. “My shrewd wives managed to persuade me that after collecting the money, the priority is to make the Haj. And that the marriage can be postponed,” said Saleh. But Saleh added that he was not fooled by their scheme. Saleh said that as soon as he returns to his small village in Yemen he would announce his engagement to the young bride with any money left from his Haj trip.
