BHOPAL, 11 January 2006 — Mohammed Javed Khilji, a scientist based at Gwalior, a town in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, has challenged Albert Einstein’s Theory of Relativity over a hundred years after it was propounded. Khilji has questioned the postulates of the theory. His papers have been published by a United States-based scientific journal. The scientists working with the US journal spent more than a year studying his research paper before publishing it. The Theory of Relativity was propounded by Einstein in 1905. When the world is celebrating the centenary year of the Theory of Relativity, Khilji has not only questioned the theory but has also put forward his own theory.
Khilji has been working in the field for the last 15 years. He got in touch with the US-based Journal of Theoretics which published his research papers in its December 2004 issue. In one of the journals titled Modified Field Theory he has put forward his own theory of relativity. Prof. Satya Prakash, former Jiwaji University vice chancellor, has commented that Khilji has presented the Einstein energy mass relation in a very interesting way and attempted to explain two converse processes simultaneously within a process. It may be pointed here that Prof. Prakash was a nominee for the Nobel Prize in 1997 on “Condensed Matter” in nuclear physics.
While scientist Ng Say Teong of Bureau of Meteorology in Australia after going through Khilji’s research work wrote “it is a remarkable conclusion on relativistic decrease of rest-mass.” Prof. Abdul Ali, former head of the department of physics in the local post-graduate Saifia College, said if his “Modified Field Theory” is pursued in the right perspective, it is likely to give a new dimension to Einstein’s Theory of Relativity.
