KARACHI, 29 January 2006 — Unknown gunmen shot dead two men in firing incidents in Korangi and Liaquatabad. 

Mohammed Irshad Khan, a resident of Landhi 5 — F-36 area left home in his new car on Friday night to attend the marriage of a friend at Nasir Colony’s marriage hall. He was allegedly taken hostage by some persons while returning home and was shot dead near Gulshan Market in Korangi-6, police said. 

His body was found on the driving seat of his car at 1:30 in the morning with four bullet wounds. 

In another incident Raees Khan, 32, was shot dead by unidentified armed men at a fancy lights shop in electronics market located at S.M. Taufiq Road, Liaquatabad. 

Raees, a former activist of Muttaheda Qaumi Movement (MQM), was gunned down in Liaquatabad and five persons lost their lives in different road accidents, police said  yesterday.

Raees was shot while he going to a nearby shop. He was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Experts said that the deceased sustained six bullet wounds and died on the spot.
