HYDERABAD, India, 20 February 2006 — Maoists raided a train station in Prakasam district of the southern Andhra Pradesh state on Saturday night. According to police, a group of 20 rebels stormed the Diguvumitta station around 10.45 p.m. They forced the railroad staff on gunpoint to leave the station. The rebels then planted land mines and triggered an explosion that badly damaged the main building of the station. Police are on the spot and investigating. Railroad officials said no trains were scheduled to pass by around the time the attack occurred.
