Science has its say on the issue of equality between men and women. Nature has resolved the differences between the two genders in terms of appearance. But looks are not the basis to judge the superiority of men over women or vice versa. Natural skills and talents of individuals regardless of their sex are, or should be, the basis.
Before declaring ultimate equality between men and women, many aspects must be taken into consideration. Firstly, each gender’s role should be the foundation of any determination of equality. Because, let’s face it, there are differences between men and women beyond those physical ones that are obvious. Mental and psychological differences have been proved through research and studies, for example.
Adolescence is when these psychological differences really start to take shape. Women are more passionate, romantic and affectionate. Men have a tendency toward interest in how things work and the implementation of structural motions. Men seem to have a higher tolerance for intolerant situations, with a nervous system designed to bear up to life’s obstacles.
Some scientists say that women are more easily affected by rage and confusion. This same trait makes women emotionally superior to men.
I believe that despite these physical and psychological differences, we can see clearly that women are capable of handling challenges equally (if also differently) with men and against competitors in the path of life.
