ISLAMABAD — One of the constituents of the Muttaheda Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) has expelled four of its members of the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) Assembly from the party for their anti-party activities during Senate elections.
Those who have been expelled by the Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) included Dildar Ahmad, Yasmin Khanlid, Rostana Raaz and Gur Saran Lal. All these members had voted against the party line in the Senate elections.
According to JUI provincial high command statement, “These MPAs had voted for the ruling Pakistan Muslim League (Q)’s candidates in the recently held Senate elections.”
Speaker of the NWFP Assembly Bakhat Jehan Khan was expected to issue a notification soon to terminate the membership of the expelled members as per constitutional obligation and violative of the election rules.
