JEDDAH, 15 February 2007 — The Saudi Football League resumes today with two important matches taking place. In Riyadh at Prince Faisal ibn Fahd stadium, Al-Shabab face Al-Qadisiya in crucial match for Shabab.
Shabab will try to make up for the unexpected defeat against Wehda in Makkah 1-0 last week. Currently Shabab are in fourth place with 26 points. Qadisiya, on the other hand, are in eighth position with 14 points. Qadisiya had lost any hope of qualifying for the final four to determine the King’s trophy winner. Shabab will be looking to clinch the game three points and pass Ittihad at third place.
Wehda meet Al-Hazem in Al-Rass, with the former hoping to cash in on the chance to collect the game three points and take the lead knowing pretty well that Hilal will have a very tough match against Ittihad tomorrow.
Wehda hope that Hilal will draw or lose the match against Ittihad and that the game of cat and mouse at the top will end in favor of Wehda. Al-Hazem are in danger zone in ninth place with mere 13 points. Though out of the running for a spot in the last four Al-Hazem need to win if only to get out of the bottom two places and avoid the drop to the first division.
