JEDDAH, 26 February 2007 — The game of musical chairs continued between Mazda Zoom Zoom and Farisbowling.com. After Mazda won their fourth Team of the Week award the last time Farisbowling.com took their second team honors during the sixth session in the Monday Night Bowling League 6th Conference at the Jeddah Lanes here.
Though Pinshock Zone shared the award with Mazda the previous week not another team outside of Farisbowling.com and Mazda had tasted Team of the Week victory. Nearing the two months mark of the competition these three teams are at the top of the standings.
Farisbowling rocketed to the top after the second game and never looked back to pool the top tally of 47 points and emerge as he week’s best. Mazda, the first game leaders, were second on 38.
Defending champions Al-Mottawer Group, who have yet to make a move, tallied 34.5 points on the night followed by Jeddah Lanes on 33 and Ventuno Production on 32.
Lipton Tea were on 30.5 points at sixth place followed by Deaf Club of Jeddah on 28.5 and Sunrise International School on 21. The last four spots went to Pinshock Zone on 20.5 points, International on 13, Bugshan on 10 and Insektos on 4.
Ray Thompson bowled hot all evening and was chiefly the reason Farisbowling went top as he carded the second highest score of 707 on lines of 279, 215 and 213. Nabeel Omar, another Class A bowler in the lineup, supported Thompson with 639 (219, 195,225) while Saleh Sugati added 605. Contributions of 166-257, 256-253 and 151-202 came from Ameen Abed, national bowler Faisal Sugati and Mohammed Al-Sharif.
Farisbowling shot the leading overall output of 3,288 pinfalls with Mazda on second at 3,085.
Ryan Tan headed a quartet that worked full games for Mazda at 688. League organizer Igna Salgado chipped in with 612, while Rally Zamora and Jerry Arcos made 607 and 552. Val Magsino tossed in 205-233 and Abet Sarte had 531 to round out the Mazda scoring.
Faisal Fintayani shot highs of 236, 231 and 215 on the way to a 682 that was to be the foundation of Mottawer’s charge that included 575 from veteran Cris Villavelez, 560 from Waheeb Kamfar, 527 from Ammar Tarad, 205-203 from Zaki Yassin and 211 from Hussam Kamfar.
Host Jeddah Lanes received 632 from Bobby Baraquel, 588 from Mar Cabrera and 574 from Gerry Tano.
Hashim Guinomla shot the high series of 716 on lines of 234, 214 and 268 at the helm of Lipton Tea. Rey del Rosario came through with 619 to go with the 608 from Raul de los Reyes and 600 from Nap Patayan.
Ventuno Production got their points mainly from Fadi Al-Tuwaireb 628, Jaffer Al-Khateri 588 and Bander Haddad 585. The other notable scorers of the night were: Majid Aslani 662 and Mohammad Oraif 604 of Deaf Club Jeddah, Pinshock’s Leo Edejer 628, Manny Laguardia of Sunrise 616 and Bugshan’s Hasnain Muktar 602.
