MADINAH, 8 March 2007 — The Madinah Cricket Association honored the winners and runners-up of the 1st MCA Sadafco Cup cricket tournament at a prize distribution ceremony at Al-Aqool cricket ground here.
A large number of community people and local residents attended the ceremony held under the banner of MCA.
Seven teams from the city took part in the tournament. After the completion of two rounds Sadafco, Airport Binladin, Quba Eleven and Sahiwal Eleven faced each other in the semifinals. However, Airport Binladin and Quba Eleven succeeded in reaching the final but Airport Binladin stole the show by winning by nine wickets and lifting the coveted trophy.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Holy Qur’an. Arshed Raza, tournament secretary, briefed the audience. Hashmat Qazi, vice president, after giving informatory detail about MCA activities, introduced the chief guest Hani Mharoos, the personnel manager Sadafco, and the special guest Afsar Faheem, also from Sadafco.
Dr. Syed Insram Ali, Chaudhri Masood and other dignitaries briefly spoke to the audience and assured their full support to MCA. They also showed their full confidence in MCA as the genuine representative body of organizing cricket tournaments in Madinah.
Expressing his views, the chief guest was very much impressed by the large number of spectators. He appreciated the MCA for beautifully organized the event and on behalf of Sadafco promised to sponsor more MCA events in future. Afser Faheem also briefly spoke.
Other speakers were Dr. Syed Insram Ali, Engineer Chaudhri Masood, who all assured their full support to MCA. They also showed their confidence in MCA as the genuine representative body of organizing cricket in Madinah.
For his part, Syed Zahid Ali, president of MCA, thanked the chief guest, the sponsors, committee members of MCA, and the audience for helping make this event a success.

Best bowler: Hafiz Imtiaz (Airport Binladin); Best batsman & man of the tournament: Qaiser (Quba Eleven); Man of first semifinal: Ikhlaq (Quba Eleven); Man of second semifinal: Ilyas (Airport Binladin); Man of the final: Ilyas (Airport Binladin).
Umpiring Awards: Zulfiqar (MCA Jrs); Ijaz (Sadafco); Mustafa (Sadafco).
Mangerial Awards: Fayyaz (Quba Eleven);

Shields and mementoes were also presented to veteran community members in recognition of their contribution and support toward MCA.
