Women’s Tennis Final in Jeddah

JEDDAH, 12 March 2007 — Japanese Kiko and Saudi Salwa Ali Reda clash today in the final of the 2nd Open Women’s Tennis Championship at the indoor court of First Women Charity Society’s club behind the Saudi Television building here. The match starts at 8 p.m. The society’s president, Salma Zainal, said Al-Maghrabi Group of Hospitals and Yanbu Cement are the sponsors of the event being held in cooperation with Racquet Shop.
Heraa Squash Team for Egypt Tilt
JEDDAH — Heraa squash team have received an invitation recently from Misr University for Sciences and Technology (MUS) to participate in their Open Championship set for May 1 to 8 in Cairo. The general supervisor and one of Saudi Squash Federation Council members will join the Saudi team in addition to the six players namely Sami Bundugji, Mashhour Bundugji, Ahmed Bshawri, Imad Al-Silaimani, Abdulrhman Jasoumah and Ashraf Abu Al-Enain.
Heraa club is considered the Kingdom’s No. 1 squash supporter followed by Al-Jeel, Al-Hilal, Al-Hajar, Al-Qadisiya and Al-Ittifaq.
As the top squash club Heraa was invited, according to the team general supervisor. He added “We were glad and hope to make good use of this invitation and competition and wish to finish in the three top ranks.” Prior to the competition the team are to enter training camp in Makkah for 20 days. Also, Heraa is eyeing the services of the second best Egyptian squash coach Ahmed Mohammed Saeed.
Saudi Archers in Turkey for World Cup
JEDDAH — The Saudi national archery team are seeing action in the World Cup which starts today in Turkey. Saudi Archery FederationGeneral-Secretary Abdulrahman Al-Saghir thanked the Youth Welfare Presidency chief Prince Sultan ibn Fahd and his deputy-president Prince Nawaf ibn Faisal for their support and expressed his wishes that the Saudi team would do the country proud as expected.
