A unanimous opinion of young women is that “men deserved to be milked.” Women claim they do not force the men to give them money or pay their telephone bills, but men take pleasure in doing this.

Some girls say they find satisfaction in exploiting men as punishment for their attempts to befriend them. “Men are naïve. They deserve to be exploited financially,” a young girl said. She did not want her name published.

Nauf Al-Ghamdi, a 16-year-old Saudi girl, told Arab News that she does not approach men to have a forbidden relationship or use her body and good looks to make money. “However, I do take extreme pleasure when I sit with other girlfriends at a restaurant and ask a man to pay,” she said.

Nauf believes that many young Saudis would like to sit with beautiful girls in public places to have a good time and to pay for their food. “When one of the men starts liking one of the girls, he starts making advances and giving her presents and money in the hope of sleeping with her,” she said.

Nauf noted that men usually feel more attracted to girls who play hard to get, and said the more the girl stays away, the more he will chase her and the more money he will spend on her.

Nasreen Al-Hajri, a 22-year-old Saudi girl, said she did not deliberately exploit young men for her own personal interests but added she is a strong believer in friendship between men and women. “Males and females can have innocent friendships. Giving gifts or paying telephone bills in this case will not be a form of exploitation,” she said.

Al-Hajri said as girls cannot go out alone, they sometimes ask men to accompany them to the cabins to enjoy the sea or hire a boat.

Riham Al-Zahrani, who is 19, said she would not hesitate to exploit men over 26 because they usually have money. “Due to my youth and beauty, it is easy for me to exploit men,” she said.

Al-Zahrani admitted that her family gives her money but it is not enough as she likes expensive things. “I do not mind exploiting some naïve men to get what I want without paying myself,” she said.

She said some men knew they were being exploited by her, but they did not mind. “Men usually are satisfied when young and beautiful girls go out with them. Therefore, they deserve to be exploited,” she said.

Commenting on the issue, psychiatrist Dr. Adel Abdul Aziz said such behavior is part of upbringing. “Good habits such as praying and talking nicely or bad habits such as smoking and drug-taking develop depending on the atmosphere one was raised in,” he said.

He described the new terminology of “sheep men” as weird and said the families are to blame for such conduct.

Abdul Aziz described the girls who resort to this behavior as vindictive and said they might be indirectly taking revenge on men who might have abused them while they were young.

“Some girls whose male family members are chauvinists might have a desire to take revenge on other men,” he said.
