- JEDDAH: To celebrate the 10th anniversary of fast food chain ALBAIK's student enhancement program You Are the House Hero, participants of the scheme had the opportunity to implement what they have learned for the benefit of the community and local neighborhoods.
The lessons learned over four weeks translated into action with the House Hero participants in Jeddah and Makkah taking part in a painting clean-up initiative.
Following an assessment of the graffiti scrawled on walls around the neighborhoods, students worked with their instructors to repaint the walls as they had been taught in a summer program.
During the third week of the summer program more than 50 of the students spent a day painting over the graffiti on walls in Jeddah and Makkah under the direction of the Jeddah municipality and in cooperation with the 1st Vocational and Training Institute in Jeddah and Technical College in Makkah.
After setting a schedule for the painting program, the students and their instructors boarded buses and headed to the designated locations as approved by the municipalities to begin painting the walls.
Rami Abu Ghazaleh, CEO of ALBAIK Food Systems, said: “We are not just celebrating 10 years of the House Hero program; we are celebrating the responsibility and actions of our youth who are the instigators of this program. To have students take it upon themselves to implement a painting activity not for their own purpose but for the benefit of the community is to be lauded by all.”
Aimed at encouraging youth to become integral components of society and engage in innovative and interactive programs, the House Hero program is one of ALBAIK's several corporate social responsibility programs.
