How did he reach this result? Did he use an alcohol detector and check all candidates personally? Some preachers have even claimed that morally corrupt scholarship candidates want to leave the country so they can satisfy their alcohol or drug addictions. It is as if they want to say that such candidates would behave better if they stayed in the Kingdom.

Everyday we read about the police and the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice raiding small distilleries and destroying their production. Does this mean that 80 percent of Saudis are alcoholics?

Indecent behavior can be committed in the most holy places. A person can refrain himself from indecent behavior in the worst places on earth.

We cannot keep promoting virtue and preventing vice to our grown kids forever. Our mission is to raise them, protect them till they reach a certain age, and then let them live their life alone and free, relying on the faith, values and principals they obtained from home.

In fact, those objecting to sending students on scholarships are behind demolishing our civilization project by presenting weak arguments in their claims that our kids will commit crimes if they travel abroad. If we assume their call is right, then what about the big number of drug users and prostitution and crimes occurring inside the country?

It is not a matter of keeping our children in a certain place to prevent them from corruption; it is an equation that consists of different elements put together. Preachers should follow the Hadith of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who said, "Speak well or remain silent." We have had enough of such negative speeches.

If such preachers trusted and encouraged the young generation, our children would certainly achieve more. An unjustified attack reflects negatively on us and confirms that we are not capable of traveling abroad. It indicates that we better stay inside, so we will not expose ourselves. My advice on this issue: Silence speaks louder than words.
