The 33-year-old Jones will replace Gareth Thomas as the record-holder for Wales after being picked by coach Warren Gatland on Thursday.

Flanker Sam Warburton, who was captain when Wales lost 28-31 to the Barbarians, continues as skipper in the absence of Matthew Rees, who has a neck injury.

George North was handed a start on the right wing. The 19-year-old North has already made five appearances for Wales.

Lock Alun Wyn Jones will make his 50th appearance, whilst Rhys Priestland is being tested at full-back, despite his favored position being flyhalf.

Wales will also play England in a reverse fixture on Aug. 13 at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.

“For us, these next two games against England provide an opportunity for players to put their hands up in terms of selection for the World Cup, but also getting some confidence as we look toward New Zealand,” Gatland said.

“The guys are in great shape physically, and I think it is going to be an absolute full-on Test match from both teams. There is a huge amount to play for, and there should be no lack of motivation.”

Wales will have several players missing against England.

Along with Rees, Leigh Halfpenny has failed to recover from an ankle injury, while experienced prop Gethin Jenkins has been allowed another week to improve his fitness.

Gareth Delve and Gavin Henson are not included in the side to face the 2007 World Cup runners up.

Wales begins its World Cup campaign in New Zealand against holder South Africa on Sept. 11. It will also face Samoa, Namibia and Fiji.
