"Prince Salman thanked them all for their sincere condolences and for expressing their brotherly feelings. He also prayed to Allah seeking forgiveness for the late princess and asking to accommodate her in His Paradise," an official statement said.

Princess Sultana, 71, who passed away on Sunday following a prolonged illness, was the mother of Prince Salman's sons Fahd, Ahmed, Abdul Aziz, Sultan and Faisal and daughter Hessa. A large number of people including Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Prince Naif attended the funeral prayer for her at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh on Tuesday.

Prince Salman received condolences on the death of the princess at his palace in Maader on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after taraweeh prayers.

Princess Sultana had supported the Prince Fahd bin Salman Charitable Society for the Care of Kidney Patients and other charitable organizations in the country.
