He has been in the Abu Arish jail over the past four weeks. Princess Nora bint Bandar, wife of Prince Muhammad Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, donated the SR18,000 required by the ill prisoner to secure his release.

The princess also handed SR10,000 to Tarahum officials for the release of another prisoner in Jazan who was in jail for failing to pay off debts. Chairman of Tarahum’s Jazan branch Ali Zaala thanked the princess for helping prisoners.

In a related development, the Tarahum branch in Asir province distributed food baskets to 100 families valued at SR55,000 and paid SR175,000 in cash assistance to another 100 families related to prisoners.

The General Directorate of Prisons received SR1.58 million from a donor to secure the release of 83 prisoners spending time in jails because of their inability to pay back their debts.

Meanwhile, the Al-Mawaddah Charity Society in Jeddah, which undertakes activities aimed at the smooth integration of ex-convicts in society, planned to organize seven training programs in prisons of Jeddah. The charity expects 350 young inmates to benefit from the program, which will focus on communication skills.
