Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman has launched 22 projects in Badr Province, local media said.

The projects, worth SR243 million, cover educational, municipal, water, and charity sectors.

In a related development, Prince Faisal on Thursday will sponsor the ground-breaking ceremony of a number of developmental projects in King Fahad Industrial Port (Yanbu) and Yanbu Commercial Port at a combined cost of SR2.1 billion.

Commenting on the projects, Transport Minister Jabara Al-Seraisry said the projects come in the context of the Ports Authority’s (PA) plans adding that the projects will realize a quality leap to the two ports in terms of operational capacity and support services.

It is to be recalled that King Fahad Industrial Port consists of a number of terminals (berths) such as general cargo and container, bulk, crude oil, export refinery, petrochemicals, natural gas, and local refinery terminals.

Yanbu Commercial Port, meanwhile, has increased its capacity whereby it can handle in excess of 3 million tons of cargo per year.
