After four consecutive days of trading in the green, the Saudi stock market took a reversal yesterday, dropping nearly 20 points.

The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) started a sideways walk along the break even line earlier yesterday, abruptly changed its direction toward south after mid of the session and finally closed in the red territory at 7,157.64 points, down 0.28 percent over the previous close.

It plunged to a maximum of 48 points during the session.

The market cap indices all finished to the downside.

Most of the sector indices ended negatively, paring an aggregate of 327 points. Only four sectors including Energy & Utilities, the best performer (up 1.34 percent), moved higher from previous day’s level.

Transport and Multi-Investment sectors showed the worst performance, declining 2.4 percent and 1.59 percent respectively.

Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC) continued its positive movement amongst large caps, increasing 1.43 percent further to close the day at SR 14.15.

On the contrary, Kingdom Holding suffered the worst of all heavyweights, showing a reduction of 3.94 percent.

The market breadth was negative, with 44 stocks witnessing advances and 92 others marking a decline.

Allianz Saudi Fransi Cooperative Insurance and Wafa Insurance dominated the top gainers chart at Tadawul, surging by 6.14 percent and 5.18 percent respectively.

On the other side of the spectrum, Allied Cooperative Insurance Group and Saudi Land Transport suffered the greatest amount of damages, turning down 9.9 percent and 9.8 percent respectively.

Tadawul volume went up by 2.3 percent and liquidated more than 220 million shares.

Knowledge Economic City and Gassim Agricultural Co. were significant gainers among most active stocks, showing a positive change of 5.03 percent and 2.49 percent respectively.

KEC has also been able to occupy the place at top gainer chart, closing at SR14.6, and ranking third.
