Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY) Chairman Saud bin Abdullah bin Thunayan has signed two contracts to establish a station to pump drinking water and a number of tanks in the industrial city of Ras Al-Khair, raise the electric power lines and develop the power plant at King Fahd Industrial Port in Jubail industrial city. The total value of the two contracts is SR467, 900,000.

Under the first contract, the Saudi Services for Electro-Mechanic Works Company will establish a pumping station for drinking water and four water tanks in the industrial city of Ras Al-Khair.

The deal specifies that the contractor will prepare, filter and develop the site, construct rainwater and flood drainage system, undertake construction for collecting and transferring sewage water, distribute drinking water, and provide water for fire extinguishing and also for generating electric power. Establishing telecommunications and internal road network, and undertaking construction for pumping and water treatment for chlorine station, generator room, Saudi Electricity Company equipment room, sub-station and guard building are also specified.

The project will take two years and two months to be complete.

The second contract has been signed with the same company to develop the King Fahd Industrial Port’s power plant in Jubail industrial city and undertake design and supply for lifting power lines.

The scope of the work includes providing additional power lines to the sub power plant that is located in the port (15 b c), including burying underground cables and strengthening the power plant effort to 115/34.5 KV. Also, many adjustments will be implemented such as changing the path of the current upper transmission lines 230kV and 380 kV in Jubail 2 and replacing a set of singular insulation wires with double insulation ones.

The work on this project will take three and a half years.
