After a couple of days of trading in the green, the Saudi stock market took a reversal yesterday, dropping a few points merely.

The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) ended yesterday’s trading in the red at 7,175.36 points, down 4.4 points or 0.06 percent, from its previous day close at 7,179.8 points.

It went nearly 3 points above and 29 points below the break-even line during the day.

Market cap indices ended the day in mixed territories.

Saudi sector indices performed in a mixed fashion, with seven sectors accumulating an aggregate of 111 points and eight sectors trimming 236 points collectively.

Real Estate Development outperformed among the sectoral indices, advancing 1.24 percent to close at 3,962.81.

On the other hand, Tourism and Telecom came out as worst performing sectors, going down 0.9 percent and 0.8 percent respectively.

Most of heavy weights closed in red, showing small declines from previous level.

On the positive side, Samba Financial Group remained key gainer among large caps, increasing by 1.09 percent to close the day at SR 46.

Market breadth remained slightly negative, with 54 stocks witnessing advances and 76 others marking a decline.

Among all Saudi stocks, Taiba Holding and Makkah Construction & Development Co. continued to show a tremendous performance for the second straight day, surging further by 6.13 percent and 4.74 percent respectively.

Share trading activity remained low yesterday as compared to previous day; turnover went down by 13.9 percent in terms of volume and 12.2 percent in terms of value.

Saudi Mobile Telecommunications Co. (Zain) continued to dominate the trading activity, liquidating over 39 million shares, which equates 18.8 percent of the overall market volume.

The value of these shares totaled SR 327.6 million which accounted for roughly 6.4 percent of the Tadawul liquidity.

But the company delivered a largely negative performance for the second consecutive session, slipping 4.0 percent further.
