JEDDAH: The Saudi stock market fell in the first half of this year.
At the end of the first half 2015, Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) closed at 9,086.89, down 426.13 points or 4.48 percent over the close of the same period of the previous year, according to Tadawul’s Statistical Report.
On an YTD basis, TASI registered a positive increase of 9.04 percent (753.59 points). Highest close level for the index during the period was 9,834.49 as on April 30, 2015.
Total equity market capitalization at the end of the 1st half of 2015 reached SR2.01 trillion ($536.92 billion), increased by 3.51 percent over the end of the 1st half of the previous year.
The total value of shares traded for the 1st half reached SR1.04 trillion ($ 278.33 billion), decreased by 7.08 percent over the same period of the previous year.
The total number of shares traded reached 38,783.72 billion during the 1st half compared to 38,433.90 billion shares traded during the 1st half of the previous year, increased by 0.91 percent.
The total number of transactions executed during the 1st half reached 17.85 million compared to 18.51 million trades during the 1st half of the previous year, decreased by 3.55 percent, the Tadawul report said.
