The Saudi stock market turned red Monday, reversing after a four-day surge and dropping slightly by 0.07 percent.
The benchmark Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) wavering along the break-even line within a range of 65 points ended nearly 6.8 points lower to 9,343.78.
Saudi sector indices performed in a mixed fashion. Seven out of Tadawul’s 15 sectors finished to the upside, accumulating 380 points for the day.
Agriculture a Food Industries sector with an upward jump of 1.11 percent remained prominent among sectoral indices, closing the day at 9,678.31.
On the negative side, eight sectors slipped from previous day’s level, paring an aggregate of 505 points.
Real estate development switched its position from top gaining sector of previous couple of days to the biggest loser of the day, down 2.61 percent to 6,164.15.
Most of heavy weights closed in the downward territory.
Only Samba Financial Group and market leader SABIC closed the day up, advancing 1.33 percent and 0.43 percent respectively.
The market breadth remained a little unfavorable, with 58 issues witnessing advances against 75 issues recording declines.
Wafrah for Industry and development formerly Food Product Company remained at top position among all Saudi equities, surging over six percent to close the day at SR 35.3.
Ash-Sharqiyah Development Company and Herfy Food Services Co. followed it, advancing 5.94 percent and 4.97 percent respectively.
On the other hand, Trade Union Cooperative Insurance showed the worst performance, reducing by 4.15 percent to close at SR27.7.
A good amount of volume roughly 463 million shares was liquidated at Tadawul, a decrease of 2.2 percent from the previous level but still it was 76.9 percent greater than 50-day average of 261.7 million shares.
Market liquidity remained nearly unchanged from the previous day’s SR11.2 billion.
The volume chart was led by Dar Alarkan Real Estate with trades over 94.4 million shares, a relative market share of 20.4 percent.
But the company finished to the downside, declining 4.0 percent and closing at SR12.
