The Saudi stock market bucked the two-day downward trend and turned green Wednesday, adding 23.9 points for the entire session.
The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) wavering above the break-even level in a range of 40.3 points advanced to 8,792.8 points. The TASI’s yield reached over three percent since the start of 2014.
All market cap indices finished to the upside, with Small cap growing by 0.83 percent. Most of the major sectors closed in the green territory, accumulating an aggregate of 732 points.
Hotel & Tourism showed the best performance among sectoral indices, rising 1.97 percent and crossing the 17,000-mark. Cement sector added 85 points, up 1.18 percent.
On the negative side, four sectors including Multi-Investment lost a few points merely.
Samba Financial Group and Riyad Bank came out as significant players among heavyweights, offsetting their performance by one percent positive-negative change.
Market breadth was positive, with 88 stocks witnessing advances and 40 others marking a decline.
The Medgulf Insurance and Taiba Holding Co. dominated the performance chart, surging by 4.62 percent and 4.55 percent respectively.
Tadawul turnover went down by 12.3 percent in terms of volume and 10.1 percent in terms of value. Total volume set sold approximately 238 million shares, remaining 14 percent above the 50-day average level.
Most of the trading was concentrated in Dar Al-Arkan Real Estate with 51.9 million shares, capturing 21.8 percent of Tadawul volume. It also topped the value chart, pumping SR558 million into the market.
But the company finished to the downside, closing slightly above its par value.
