Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center (RICEC), is a true expression of society’s need for new technology owned by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).

“The meetings, conferences and exhibitions industry in the Kingdom expands the need for modern facilities including exhibition spaces and hotels within major business districts,” said Abdullah Al-Omran, the center’s chief executive officer.

He added: “RICEC’s entry into the market in March 2009 opened a window of opportunity for Saudi Arabia’s young and talented people. The center was established to cater to the requirements of this emerging industry”

Hosting more than one million trade visitors in 2012, the RICEC has emerged as a key player in the Middle East conference industry. The modern design of the center consistent with surroundings has made it a true cultural incomparable landmark in the Kingdom.

The prestigious center aims to satisfy the demands of the massive purchasing power of the region in general and of the Kingdom in particular, which is considered as the biggest economy in the region.

Since its launch date, RICEC has seen a two-fold growth in the number of events it has hosted, which, which comprises 15,000 square meter of column-free indoor exhibition space, 5,000 square meter of outdoor venue, an auditorium that can seat up to 1,100 people, a business center, a press center and a 1,600 square meter VIP lounge.

In 2012, RIECE hosted 26 major events representing various industries from construction, agriculture, technology, energy, healthcare and education.

“A consistent rising demand for exhibition space also led the center to undertake a recent expansion drive that will add a further 10,000 square meters of outdoor venue to its list of facilities,” Al-Omran said.

According to the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation, business regulation reforms have placed the Kingdom at the top ranking countries in the Arab World for ease of doing business in 2012 and 2013.

RICEC also aims to protecting investors and small-medium sized enterprises to encourage in various fields to setup offices in the Kingdom.

The Kingdom’s effort towards the development process and create a friendly business environment are helping to raise Saudi Arabia’s profile as a premiere business destination in the Gulf region.
