Shoura council votes on the transformation of the Saudi Ports Authority to a public commercial institution on Monday.

Shoura will determine the fate of recommendation by the transportation, communication and information technology Committee to privatize the Seaport authority to be an administratively and financially independent public institution.

The council’s fifth ordinary session will debate views by the financial committee on the performance report of the Agriculture Development Fund’s for the past fiscal year.

Another report to be discussed is the foreign affairs committee’s report in regards to the dual political discussions memorandum between the Saudi and Czech foreign ministries, and judicial and Islamic affairs’ report concerning the annual report of the Ministry of Justice.

On the agenda, discussing the special committee’s report in regards to amending the 6th paragraph of the 3rd article of the benefits system between the civil and military retirement system and the social security system and adding a new paragraph to Article 3, proposed by Amr Rajab.

In its 6th ordinary session to be held on Tuesday, the council discusses the economic and environmental affairs committee’s report on the basic law of the Statistical Center for the Cooperation Council for the Arab Countries of the Gulf (GCC), and listen to the financial committee’s remarks in regards to the annual report of the Saudi Fund for Development for the past fiscal year.

The council will discuss the media and cultural affairs committee’s report regarding the annual report of the Media and Culture Ministry. The committee recommended restructuring the cultural sector, fixing the incompetence of the external media, and designing a new strategy for the ministry to match the new hierarchy and development plans.

Discussing the economic and energy committee’s report, is on the council’s agenda, to deliberate on amending Article 6 and adding a paragraph to articles 5 and 7 of the Saudi Council of Engineers’ system.

In addition, the council will examine a report by the administration and human resources committee on a proposed amendment to Article 6 of the educational posts record, suggested by council member Ahmad Al-Mifrih.
