The Saudi stock market depicted a positive drive yesterday, marking another solid gain of nearly one percent.

The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) continued its upward march for the third consecutive session, dug in at 7,300.34 points level and finished the day up over 71 points. Its trading range expanded further to 90.1 points as compared to previous day's 82.7 points.

On an YTD basis, TASI registered a positive return of nearly 500 points or 7.34 percent.

Market cap indices all ended the day in the upward zone.

All sectors extended gains except Media and Publishing, which pared nominal 8.93 points. Remaining 14 sectors showed a collection of 814.43 points jointly.

Real Estate Development outperformed among the sectoral indices, surging 3.25 percent to close the day at 4,323.16.

Insurance and Agriculture were other significant advancing sectors, gaining roughly two percent for the day.

Most of heavy weights closed in green; where Riyad Bank increasing by 1.49 percent and Saudi Telecom Co. 1.25 percent.

The market breadth was strong for the day as 115 stocks witnessing advances and other 28 stocks marking a decline.

Tawuniya and Bupa Arabia topped the performance chart at Tadawul, soaring up 9.42 percent and 7.34 percent respectively.

Market activity was high; specifically 428.6 million shares worth SR 8.4 billion were transacted at Tadawul. This turnover reflects an increase of 9.97 percent on volume basis and 12.32 percent in terms of liquidity.

Jabal Omar Development Company and Dar Al-Arkan Real Estate continued a splendid performance among most active stocks, surging further by 5.28 percent and 4.37 percent respectively.

Dar Al-Arkan continued to dominate the trading activity, liquidating 114.3 million shares, which equates 26.7 percent of the overall market volume.

The value of these shares totaled SR 1.1 billion which accounted for roughly 13 percent of the Tadawul liquidity.
