The Saudi stock market sustained its upward march yesterday, closing the fourth consecutive session with balmy gains (+7.02 points).
Saudi Arabia’s benchmark stock index (TASI) added further 0.1 percent to finish at 7,307.36 points. While curving above the break-even line throughout the day it rose to a maximum gain of 42.3 points.
Only Med cap among the market cap indices moved downward slightly.
Sector indices performed in a mixed fashion, with eight sectors accumulating an aggregate of 218.5 points and seven sectors trimming 367 points collectively.
Transport and Multi-Investment were major winners among sectoral indices, which marginally increased by 1.33 percent and 0.74 percent respectively.
On the negative side, Tourism and Real Estate Development came out as worst performing sectors, going down 1.89 percent and 1.79 percent respectively.
Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners by a slight margin of 73 to 70 and the prices of 13 companies remained unchanged.
Share price of Saudi Indian Company for Co-operative Insurance (Wafa Insurance) rallied to a maximum growth of 10 percent to SR 148.5, clinching the spot as top gainer amongst Saudi stocks.
Sanad Insurance was another significant gainer, which advanced 9.78 percent yesterday.
Most of heavyweights extended gains, with Al-Rajhi Bank outdid rest of its peers, advancing 1.12 percent to SR 67.5.
A good amount of volume roughly 362 million shares was liquidated at Tadawul, a decrease of 15.5 percent from the previous level but still it was 67.9 percent greater than 50-day average of 215.6 million shares.
Dar Al-Arkan Real Estate with a turnover of 110.2 million shares worth SR1 billion secured its most active status but the company suffered worst of all equities, turning down 6.28 percent.
