It turned out to be largely positive for investors yesterday, as Saudi Arabia’s benchmark stock index (TASI) recorded a handsome gain of 1.14 percent, which is the highest intra-day increase since January 03, 2013.
The index continued pacing its way higher throughout the day to achieve 81.6 points in a single session, closing at 7,229.02.
On Year-to-date basis, it showed a yield of 6.29 percent.
All market cap indices finished to the upside, with Micro cap up rising over three percent.
Sectoral performance was tremendous, as all sectors closed in green and accumulated an aggregate of nearly 1251 points. Insurance made the biggest jump among all sector indices, marching higher by 5.31 percent to close the day at 1,208.65.
Real Estate Development and Tourism sectors followed it, advancing by 5.13 percent and 3.62 percent for the day.
Most of heavy weights rose from previous day’s levels, with Kingdom holding outdid rest of its peers, advancing more than two percent to SR 17.1.
There were 134 net advancing issues, a largely strong market breadth.
Insurance companies were the significant winners amongst Saudi stocks, with Wataniya Insurance Company share prices of which rallied to a maximum growth of 10 percent to SR 99.
Tadawul daily turnover went up 73 percent on volume basis, 24 percent on value basis and 7.2 percent in terms of executed transactions. Roughly 390 million shares worth SR 7.4 billion were poured into the market.
Most active stocks also showed a positive change, with Dar Al-Arkan Real Estate surging by 9.58 percent, Jabal Omar Development Company 5.57 percent and Emaar the Economic City 5.49 percent.
Most of the trading was concentrated in Dar Al-Arkan with 110.9 million shares, capturing 28.5 percent of Tadawul volume. It also maintained a heavy flow of liquidity SR 990.2 million, a relative market share of 13.3 percent.
