The Saudi stock market advanced further from earlier levels to 8,865.8 Sunday.

The benchmark Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) curving in the upward territory to a maximum intra-day gain of 82.2 points added 46.5 points or 0.53 percent for the entire session.

Market cap indices all ended the day in the upward zone, with Small Cap advancing 1.2 percent. Sectoral performance was positive, with 13 sectors accumulating an aggregate of 689 points.

Transport made the biggest jump among sector indices, marching higher by 2.83 percent or 196.7 points and crossing the 7,000-mark. Industrial Investment and Construction sectors followed it, moving up by 1.98 percent and 1.3 percent respectively.

Only Media and Tourism sectors showed small declines for the day.

Most of heavy weights closed in green; where Saudi Telecom Co. surging by 1.65 percent, Samba Financial Group 0.94 percent and SABB 0.85 percent.

There were 48 net advancing issues, a strong market breadth.

Al-Ahlia Insurance Company and Saudi Public Transport Co. turned in a splendid performance among all Saudi stocks, soaring up 9.7 percent and 5.3 percent respectively.

Tadawul total volume exchanged hands approximately 252 million shares, an increase of 22.4 percent as compared to previous level. The 50-day average for trading volume is closer to 212 million shares.

Equity turnover reached to SR6.7 billion, an increase of 16.5 percent over the 50-day average level.

Dar Alarkan and Alinma Bank with trades over 75 million shares topped the volume chart, capturing 30 percent market volume jointly.

But most of the active stocks ended without any significant change.
