Saudi Arabia’s benchmark stock index (TASI) recorded mild losses on Wednesday, reversing after a three-day surge and dropping 31.74 points for the session. It closed lower to 9,798.45, shedding 0.32 percent for the entire day.

All market cap indices closed the session down. Most of the sector indices ended negatively, paring an aggregate of 450 points. Only three sectors including Hotel & Tourism, the best performer (up 0.98 percent), witnessed a positive change.

Transport sector logged the worst performance, reducing by 1.5 percent and trimming back the 8,000-point mark. Real Estate Development sector was another significant decliner, going down more than one percent but still closing above the 7,000-mark.

Top ten heavyweights also showed small declines from previous day's level, where Jabal Omar decreasing by 0.88 percent and SAFCO 0.72 percent. The total number of falling stocks exceeded to the total number of rising stocks by a margin of 90 to 55.

Alahli Takaful Company and Allied Insurance Group topped the performance chart at Tadawul, surging by 5.24 percent and 4.08 percent respectively. On the contrary, Al Ahsa Development Co. suffered worst of all equities, showing a reduction of SR0.81 or 3.88 percent.

Saudi Arabian Amiantit Co. performed well among most active stocks, liquidating 12.8 million shares and gaining 3.37 percent. Its volume went 6.34 times high over the 50-day average level.

Saudi Mobile Telecommunications (Zain) and Alinma bank again topped the activity charts but both stocks finished to the downside. Zain represented a market share of 11.4 percent in terms of volume. Furthermore, Alinma poured SR648.6 million, contributing six percent to the overall market liquidity.

Tadawul volume set sold approximately 345 million shares, the value of which is equal to SR10.7 billion. The 50-day average for trading volume is closer to 347 million shares.
