With ALBAIK, You Are the House Hero, ALBAIK’s annual program continues through August.
The summer program, which kicked off on July 24, will provide activities for some 600 male and female students to acquire practical hands-on skills.
“This year, we have taken into consideration the increasingly sophisticated mentality of young adults today as well as the dominance of digital technology in everyone’s lives,” explained Rami Abu Ghazaleh, CEO of ALBAIK Food Systems.
“That’s why we have included such courses in this year’s program such as mobile maintenance for boys and 3D design and printing for girls. Our main aim is to prepare and develop the leaders of tomorrow with the necessary basic skills to inspire their creativity and imagination and broaden their horizons to cultivate fine adults and good citizens,” he added.
The boys’ courses focus on the theoretical and practical basics and application of computer maintenance, cell phone maintenance, electricity, automobile mechanics and the basics of painting and household plumbing. The girls’ courses focus on the relationships between art and science, the basics of health and nutrition.
Upon completion of the program, all trainees will be certified as House Heroes and presented with certificates approved by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), the Technical College, Jeddah Science Center, the Directorate of Civil Defense and the Saudi Red Crescent.
The program takes place in partnership with the Secondary Industrial Institute, Jeddah Science Center and the Technical College Headquarters in Makkah, and are held in conjunction with the Saudi Red Crescent and the Directorate of Civil Defense.
Since its inception in 2000, With ALBAIK, You Are The House Hero has enjoyed the participation from more than 8,000 trainees. Now, in its 15th year, the program offers activities to boys aged 12 to 18 and to girls aged 10 to 15.
