Hyundai Motor Company and its authorized dealers in Saudi Arabia, Wallan Trading Company, Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors Company and Almajdouie Motors Company, have announced the success of the “Safeway with Hyundai” initiative.
The program aimed at educating female college students about safe driving. Around 3,000 university students participated in the campaign, which was launched in line with the implementation of the royal decree allowing women to drive.
The campaign covered a variety of activities including lectures and seminars to raise awareness about road safety. These were followed by test-drive sessions through the advanced driving simulator program (4D augmented reality) to educate young women on how to abide by the traffic rules.
Mike Song, head of operations, Hyundai Middle East and Africa, said: “This campaign is part of Hyundai’s commitment to social responsibility toward the community in which it operates.
It aims to promote a culture of traffic and road safety. Now in this new phase, where Saudi Arabia has allowed women to drive, we decided to steer this initiative to educate student girls. This initiative has been supported by modern scientific technologies to spread the message quickly and achieve its objectives. “
He added: “Hyundai hopes to assist community members to enjoy safety aboard Hyundai cars, in addition to raising awareness and improving safety on the road, because we believe that education and awareness always can achieve an improvement in the protection of our communities.”
The campaign started at Jeddah’s Effat University, and moved to Riyadh’s Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and Dammam’s Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University.
