On the sidelines of GITEX Dubai 2013, Saudi Telecom Company (STC) reached a strategic partnership agreement with Saudi Aramco to support the works of King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center. The agreement provides for the execution of a broad range of the project’s interconnect services and circuits as well as mobile and telephone services.

STC’s Senior Vice President for Technology and Operations Khaled Al-Biyari and Fawaz Al-Khodairi, operational manager of telecommunication and technology infrastructure, King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center, signed the agreement.

Al-Biyari stated that STC enhanced its future strategic vision to continue pioneering in the business sector and to offer solutions that cope with the customers’ demands; this eventually contributes to increasing productivity and achieving high rates of performance efficiency. Saudi Aramco’s trust in STC’s optimum capacities is a source of pride for the company, he said, adding that he considered the project of supporting the infrastructure works of King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center as one of the gigantic projects that will in the future enrich the oil sector and cope up with the Kingdom’s approach toward cognitive economy.

Al-Khodairi stressed the importance of the agreement in terms of raising the center’s performance efficiency and increasing productivity on all levels and said: “STC is a strategic partner of Saudi Aramco, which in fact always strives to develop this partnership.”

King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center, based in Riyadh, is counted among the most important world centers interested in energy studies.
