King, Lebanese premier discuss regional issues

JEDDAH: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman held talks here Wednesday with visiting Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam on major regional and international developments and prospects of expanding bilateral cooperation in various fields.
At the outset of the meeting, King Salman welcomed the Lebanese prime minister and his accompanying delegation and wished them a happy and comfortable stay in their second home. Salam, on his part, thanked the king for according him and his delegation a warm wecome.
The premier commended King Salman’s desire to strengthen bilateral relations and praised Saudi Arabia’s continuous support to Lebanon to overcome different situations.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, State Minister Musaed Al-Aiban, Culture and Information Minister Adel Al-Toraifi, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Nizar Madani, State Minister Khaled Al-Eissa and Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Aseeri attended the talks.
On the Lebanese side, the talks were attended by Deputy Premier and Defense Minister Samir Muqbil, Foreign Minister Jibran Basil, Health Minister Wael Abu Faour, Interior Minister Nihad Al-Mashnouq, Youth and Sports Minister Abdul Mutalib Al-Hanawi and Lebanese Ambassador Abdussattar Eissa.
Salam, who arrived here Tuesday, had a separate meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif.
