Gatorade took care of business during the Inter-Company Reinforced Group A final showdown with a tough Kwality Ice Cream side to win convincingly 84-54 at the weekend in the 2012 Perfetto Basketball Tournament organized by Industrial Sports Association (ISA) at the Industrial City Dawa Office (ICDO) court in Industrial City Phase I on the outskirts of Jeddah.
Gatorade big man, the veteran Zorilla, muscled his way through for him to be chosen as the Most Valuable Player (MVP). Zorilla played magnificent basketball since the start of the league and during the final game he scored 14 points.
The MVP got a support from another young guy in Juior Carbonnel, who also scored 15 points while the streak shooter Jeremy Payawan waxed hot from beyond the arc to score 22 big for Gatorade.
Tawzea banked on its three best players Estrella, Bien and Pupos to trounce Sleep High 86-74 in their own championship showdown.
Pupos, named the MVP of the division, exploded for 14 of his 26 points in the second half to key the Tawzea win. Estrella tallied 26 points while Bien helped out on defense matters in the final period to put away the Sleep High boys.
Guanzon’s explosiveness and Greason’s shot blocking inside landed Butler the championship victory against the defending champion Grain Silos in the Battle of the Champions Group. The scoreline was 116-93.
With a small lineup GS could simply not match up against Butler which broke the game open in the third period.
Guanzon lead the way with 23 points while Greason and Dela Paz combined for 39 points.
Alyanabie Advertizing tasted its first championship after beating Al-Yamamah 79-76 for the Inter-Company Bonafide Group A title.
Alyanabie’s Zamoras was chosen as the MVP of the division.
Vargas got the MVP award as Green Vision overwhelmed Bison 79-58 in their Inter-Company Bonafide Group B championship match. The MVP received support from Arevalo who really played well on both ends of the court and finished with 15 points, the same output by big man Mendoza.
The explosiveness of Barry in the first quarter, Genil and Palomo in the final quarter lifted Combibo Catering II to a championship victory against Almutlak 76-63.
Finally in Inter-Company Group D, Luna Cheddar Cheese beat Almarai for the championship trophy. It was a dingdong battle between the two but in the end Luna outplayed Almarai. Barry Nader was selected as the division’s MVP.
