Gold Sushi Club is a trendy Japanese lounge and restaurant that takes its inspiration from Japanese culture and cuisine. It is a fine balance between the luxury in fine dining and austerity.
The restaurant is located in Sari Gate in the main Sari Street and has good parking space.
As you enter the premises, a small closed room, which is the reception, leads you to the main restaurant area, which is designed in modern Japanese style. The walls are adorned with wooden panels and Japanese flower art pieces in metal.
One of its walls features a glass wall window with pictures of Japanese dishes and Japanese streets. The seating area is adorned with maroon seats in velvet and wooden square tables. In the center is a hand carved semi-circular shaped sushi bar in wood, which seats around 50 diners at a time.
Diners are transformed to another world once they enter the restaurant. Everything from the the music, the dim lighting and the authentic and modern Japanese dishes served in style add to the unique ambience. The menu offers a good variety of tantalizing Japanese dishes from sushi and sashmi to temaki and makimono.
In sushi items, Arab News recommends Tako octopus, while Unaki fresh water eel is an interesting choice for adventurous diners.
Makimono menu has a tempting lineup of dishes such as Crispy California, which comprises California sushi and tempura flakes. Maguro special consists of spinach, cooked tuna and parsley. Crispy Shake is a must try and comprises crispy salmon, mayo and wasabi.
Temaki selection is delicious; the shake is made with salmon, cucumber, avocado and lettuce. Maguro is made with tuna, lettuce and cucumber. The spicy shake is highly recommended and made with spicy salmon and togarashi.
The royal sushi mix platter is another popular item; it offers four pieces each of salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi and calamari, and three pieces each of ura maki and spicy salmon maki and two pieces of California maki.
Gold Sushi Club offers diners the opportunity to create their own sushi by offering a service called “Make your own sushi,” where one can experiment with and choose up to six different flavors.
For appetizers, shrimp tempura, Ika, which is breaded and deep-fried calamari with tartar sauce, and the Adamame, which comprises of steamed, salted soybeans, are a hit.
For salads, Sashimi Salad is a good choice and consists of shrimp, white fish, salmon, crab, cucumber, calamari, carrot and avocado. Kani Spicy Salad is also recommended and comprises crab, spicy mayo, tobiko, cucumber and lettuce.
For the main dish, Salmon Teriyaki is highly recommended. To say that it is delicious does not do justice and everyone who visits the restaurant must try it. The dish features broiled salmon fillet and vegetables served with teriyaki sauce.
Ramen shrimp comprising Japanese noodles and tempura shrimps is an interesting choice too.
The restaurant does not only offer Japanese cuisine, it also offers some of the most famous international dishes, such as, the French onion soup, Shrimp Caesar Salad and more.
Only the best meals end with dessert and Gold Sushi Club serves the best in modern Japanese desserts. Tempura Cheese Cake is a deep fried cheesecake that is crunchy on the outside and melting on the inside; it is light, creamy and delicious.
The Mars puddinggour is a brilliant choice for chocolate lovers; it is a special pudding flavored with hot mars chocolate and served with vanilla ice cream.
