Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, who is also chairman of the Makkah Development Authority, signed two contracts worth nearly SR 2 billion for implementing ring road projects in the city.
The contracts for completion of the five km second ring road and implementation of the third phase of the 14.5 km third ring road were awarded to Saudi Bin Laden Company. Bakar bin Laden, chairman of the company, represented his organization when signing the contracts at a ceremony in Makkah on Monday. The projects are part of the King Abdullah Project for the Development of Makkah and the Holy Sites.
Prince Khaled said the delayed ring road projects would be completed within three years, and the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs represented by the Makkah municipality will work on implementing the fourth ring road.
Prince Khaled highlighted the unprecedented progress and development being witnessed in the Kingdom under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah. “When we look at the developments taking place in the Kingdom and the rest of the countries in the Middle East region, we praise Allah for bestowing us a wise leadership and government that are keen on fulfilling the aspirations of the people and guiding the country to progress and prosperity,” he said.
