Hidada scores grand slam in FTBJ-ICBL 30th tourney

JEDDAH: It took all of 13 weeks but the wait was well worth it, as Hidada Ltd. recorded the tournament’s first grand slam by winning the Team of the Week and the men’s and ladies Bowler of the Week awards during the 13th session in the FTBJ-ICBL 30th Conference bowling tournament at Jeddah Lanes in Mossadia Plaza here.
A week after Cristal Global became the winningest team with its fourth Team of the Week victory Hidada came through with an equally remarkable achievement of its own.
Hidada pooled the top tally of 48 points to nail the team award and the individual accolades it gathered on the day were courtesy of Amro Al-Amri and Pinky Acato who rolled the high series of 690 and 674 in their respective divisions.
Jeddah Lanes and Al Zamil Metal followed Hidada in the points race at 41 and 40, while Sky Freight-TFC passed Cristal Global at third place by compiling 37.5 to Cristal’s 25.
Saudi Diyar Consultants carded 32 points with D’ Barkads on 30.5, Pin Slashers 30 and Kulisap ni Moe 27. Yanbu Sniper came in 10th with 16 points while Al Watan Décor, Akiera Sato Bowlers and Avengers were the last three finishers on 15, 13 and 9 points in that order.
Hidada enjoyed a fluent performance with the duo of Al-Amro and Acato at the helm. Al-Amro rolled games of 201, 245 and 244 while Acato shot 222, 167 and 231. Grace Siasoco, Acato’s partner on the distaff side, put together 541.
Romy Bunagan likewise did a good backup job on 631, while Nanding Siasoco and Rene Martinez had 192-183 and 191 for Hidada, which went second-fourth-first in the three games while returning the top overall output of 3,154 for another first place points of 13.
Jeddah Lanes, the second game winner, had Paolo Allego leading the way on 639. Marie Gumpal and Jeanette Cerbito contributed 591 and 550 from the women’s side, while Igna Salgado added 573, Majid Aslani 204-201 and Nick Gozun 210.
Al Zamil, which had the first crack winning the opening game, drew big numbers from the duo of Ladio Gonzales 689 and Merlen Pamintuan 607 that went with the contributions from Ester Jalata 554, Randy Mata 528, Victor Pagayon 213-179 and Hassan Sugati 191.
At Sky Freight-TFC it was Goying Salazar and Oca Bernabe that delivered best on 645 and 615. Babes Tiongson and Ellen Bernabe had 584 and 543 while team manager Emy De Guzman returned 153-207 and Rene Santiago had 175.
Nap Patayan took charge at Saudi Diyar on 607 with Patima Jintarat on 576, Susan Patayan 545 and Nestor Casalme on 542. Raul delos Reyes made 225-182 and Priz Calidro 161.
